5

Ford has updated the Mustang Mach-E electric crossover for the 2026 model year, bringing subtle design changes, interior improvements, and price adjustments. The refresh addresses minor issues and enhances efficiency, while maintaining the vehicle’s position in the competitive EV market.

Pricing and Variants

The base Select trim now starts at $65,990, a $1,000 increase. The Premium rises by $500 to $80,490, and the high-performance GT jumps $500 to $98,490. These adjustments reflect ongoing material and development costs within the automotive industry.

Powertrain and Efficiency

The Mach-E retains its three battery options, with minor capacity tweaks for the Select and Premium variants. Both the Select and GT receive power boosts, and all models benefit from consistent torque increases. A new heat pump improves battery temperature regulation, maximizing range and performance in varying climates.

Design and Interior Updates

Exterior tweaks include LED headlights now standard on the base Select, matte-black cladding for the Premium, and a revised grille for the GT. Inside, the rotary gear selector has been replaced with a column-mounted shifter, and 10-way power-adjustable front seats are standard across all trims. These changes streamline usability and improve comfort.

Safety and Standard Features

The 2026 Mustang Mach-E maintains a five-star ANCAP safety rating (based on 2021 Euro NCAP testing, excluding the GT variant). Standard safety features include autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-centring, and a comprehensive airbag system. The Select trim now offers a heat pump, improved suspension, and upgraded seating as standard. Premium models gain red brake calipers and interior accents, while the GT retains MagneRide adaptive suspension for enhanced handling.

Servicing and Warranty

Ford Australia provides a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, along with an eight-year, 160,000km battery warranty. Servicing is scheduled every 12 months or 15,000km.

Color Options

Eight exterior colors are available, with Shadow Black being the only no-cost option. The remaining colors – Glacier Grey, Molten Magenta, Eruption Green, Grabber Yellow, Star White, Velocity Blue, and Terrain – carry a $700 premium.

The 2026 Mustang Mach-E refresh demonstrates Ford’s commitment to incremental improvements in its electric vehicle lineup. The updates refine an already competitive product, addressing minor shortcomings and enhancing overall value. The price increases, while notable, align with broader trends in the EV market where component costs and demand continue to influence pricing.
