2027 Ford Super Duty Expands Off-Road and Luxury Options

Ford is enhancing its 2027 Super Duty truck lineup with expanded availability of popular off-road packages and, for the first time, luxury trim options on chassis cab models. The updates directly address customer demand for greater capability and customization in heavy-duty pickups.

More Off-Road Capability for Base Models

The base XL trim of the F-350, F-450, and F-550 now offers the option of the Tremor package or a new XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire package. Previously limited to higher trims, these packages bring significant off-road upgrades, including:

  • 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires
  • Lifted suspension
  • Electronic locking rear differential
  • Skid plates for underbody protection
  • Trail Control and Rock Crawl mode

The inclusion of the Tremor package on the XL trim with the STX Appearance package makes these features accessible to a broader range of buyers. Notably, Ford has responded to specific requests from industries like forestry, mining, and utilities to offer increased ground clearance with the new 35-inch tire option.

Luxury Now Available on Chassis Cabs

For the first time, Ford will offer the Platinum trim – its most luxurious interior – on chassis cab versions of the F-350, F-450, and F-550. This move caters to customers who upfit these trucks for specialized commercial applications but still desire a high-end cabin experience.

Why This Matters: The Super Duty line remains a dominant force in the US truck market, second only to the F-150 in sales volume. These updates demonstrate Ford’s commitment to tailoring the trucks to both work and recreational needs. The expansion of off-road features on base models increases the appeal to outdoor enthusiasts and professionals who demand rugged performance, while the Platinum trim option on chassis cabs fills a gap in the market for premium work trucks.

Orders for the 2027 Super Duty will open in May, with package pricing to be announced closer to the launch date.

These updates show Ford is listening to what its customers want, and that includes expanding luxury options and capability across all models.
